Big Lava

This spot is very close to town while also being in the neighborhood. Walkable to a grocery store and very cozy overall.

Perfect place to crash for a couple days of golf and birthday celebration for adults.

Three comfortable king beds, walking distance to restaurants and bars, clean, lots of towels, heaters in each room so we could all set our own temp, fans in the closet, extra blankets, good wifi, nice TV for a ballgame, AC in the main room, kitchen was equipped well enough to make hangover cure breakfast sliders. Provided coffee was nice, we forgot to get it so it was great that there was some there for us.

Only one bathroom, but insta hot water heater means you can rotate through the shower and nobody gets cold water.

Bedrooms are big enough. Nice touch having hotel style luggage racks. The main open are is good size, and a nice patio is right there.

Bend’s water tastes lousy. Would love a water filter for drinking water and ice that didn’t taste nasty. Buy bagged ice and bottled water. Obviously that is not our host’s fault.

Overall the place was perfect for our needs.

Staying at Diana's place was the cherry on top of a great week vacation in Bend! Her place was extremely well located, a short walk into downtown, near all the restaurants and cafes. I must say the high ceilings and tons of natural light were details we greatly appreciated. Her place was clean and cozy and had everything we could possibly need (in the kitchen and throughout). Diana's communication was great - proactive, friendly, super easy check in, couldn't have asked for a better airbnb. Highly recommend staying here. We'll be back! Thanks Diana!

Fabulous place. Perfect location. Diana was quick to respond and a pleasure to work with. Very peaceful, quiet and safe. Short walk to the lovely old downtown where there’s plenty of restaurants and breweries. House was very comfortable with 3 nice sized bedrooms and the place was in excellent condition. It had a patio where we could grill. Easy access in and out of house. Had a driveway to park our vehicle. It was excellent. And the price was very competitive to other properties. I would not hesitate to stay there again if I was in Bend!

Perfect place to stay, and it made for a perfect weekend. Awesome location that is super walkable to downtown and other activities.
We were in town for a show at Hayden Homes Amphitheater, and we were able to walk there and back - so nice to not have to worry about driving and parking.
The house is perfectly situated so you can also very easily float the river using only one car if you need to. And at night you can walk to great bars and restaurants.
While the blueprint of the house isn't huge, it feels pretty spacious inside and it was more space then the two of us needed. We were super comfortable - though larger groups might want to plan plenty of activities since there's not a lot of outdoor space and just the one main (large) common room. I feel like that's all very obvious from the listing though, so for smaller or very close groups it's great.
We would absolutely stay at Diana's on another trip!

Bend is beautiful! We enjoyed the Munch & Music on Thursday. Tubing and paddle boarding were a blast. We loved walking to town - the kids favorite stop was Cravin Candy shop and gelato. The location is great for walking every where. The house had everything we needed. Thank you!

Big Lava was a great place to stay. It is in a great location, close to many restaurants and shopping opportunities. The place is very nice and clean. 3 bedrooms, each with king beds is unusual. Comfortable beds. Loved the high ceilings. Also having a washer and dryer was awesome. Close to the river also. Lots to do in the area.

A beautiful, light-filled house very close to downtown. The space was perfect for our family of 4; each teenage girl had her own room! I’d stay here again if I’m lucky enough to return to Bend.

Fantastic location only a couple of minutes away from McMenamins and a fantastic whiskey bar (Stihl). Will definitely be staying here again. Perfect house for three individuals or three couples.

Bend is such a beautiful place. We enjoyed hiking, playing disc golf, seeing old friends, and trying the local cuisine/breweries. We loved how close the house is to town, how clean and nice it is inside & out, and that we had everything we needed for our stay! Looking forward to our next trip here!

Had a great time here in Bend! There were so many fun things to do! Some of our favorites included ice-skating, smith rock, river walks/trails, parks and a really good burger place called "Blue Eye Burger". We definitely will be bringing bikes next time because all of the cool biking parks & trails we discovered. Also, the soaking pools at McMinnemins (however you spell it) were very enjoyable as well. Overall a very relaxing and beautiful place (both this house & the city.) Thank you!!!

Diana is a great host. She was always available and helpful from start to finish. The house is wonderful! It's very comfortable inside and is super close to the downtown shops, river walk park, and an excellent local grocery store. We highly recommend staying there and look forward to returning soon.

We love it here. We climbed Pilot Butte today. Tomorrow we're going ice skating. We might go to the high desert museum on Wednesday. We played lots of games and had a fun time spending time with family.
P.S. I'm only six but my birthday is this month!

Nice quiet spot close to restaurants, the library, great space for kids. Light does shine in across the bedrooms as cars drive by. Very clean, has everything you need!

Big Lava is located just blocks from downtown and at the heart of the action in Bend. If you hang out on the front patio or in the living area, you’ll see lots of pedestrian/auto traffic. Short walk to downtown, so convenient! Lots of windows and natural light. The bedrooms do have darkening curtains, but due to the modern design and high windows, some light does filter into the bedrooms. We found the beds to be a bit too soft and hot for our liking due to the egg crate toppers and synthetic pillow/mattress toppers. This property would be good for a family or group that wants to spend all of their time together, as there is not much separation of space. Also, taller people will probably enjoy the very high cabinets in the kitchen (not easily accessible by guests at 5‘2“). We appreciate the cleanliness of A Stone’s Throw Bungalow homes and the host’s team is responsive to messages. We would stay with them again!

Amazing location! We had a wonderful family vacation in this home and walked to everything we wanted to do in less than 10 minutes. Truly right in the heart of all the best Bend neighborhoods. The host was incredibly responsive and had many thoughtful amenities like local coffee, candy, games, and extra towels.

Big Lava was great and everything we could have hoped for! The location is perfect for exploring with the ability to walk to all the favorites in Bend. The only downside to the place is it is a pretty heavy traffic corner so may not offer as much privacy/peace as other spots. Overall it was a great place for our weekend as a family in Bend and would stay there again!

We absolutely loved our time here - it was our first trip away from home with our 14 week old baby…and we were FULL of nerves. The Lava spot was the most welcoming and comfy spot to be with our baby, relax after skiing 12” powder days and to eat, drink and soak SO nearby. We will definitely come back ASAP

The house was perfect for our needs. Walking distance to downtown and Old Mill District. The library was two blocks away which was great to take our 1.5 year old to utilize the children's indoor play area.

We loved our stay! The home was a great size for our family of four. Two more people would not be too crowded, just be aware there is only 1 bathroom. There were so many pluses to staying here! Amazing location (walkable to great area restaurants), washer/dryer, well stocked kitchen, outside shed for all our snow stuff, so much natural light… It is a great choice! We loved all the thoughtful extras too- the hot cocoa and coffee, the puzzles, the area recommendations, the luggage racks, the provided lotion (we needed that!). Next time we visit Bend we plan to stay here- thanks!

Diana’s place is nice, located conveniently near downtown. While the place did have some issues with the heating system, which wasn’t ideal for our family, Diana and team did work to help resolve our issue.

I can't imagine a better place to stay in Bend. We were walking distance from all the best restaurants/cafes and a short drive from everything else we wanted to do. The house was spotless and lovely, the Wi-Fi was fast and reliable, the hosts were kind and responsive and the beds were the most comfortable I've ever slept in. (This is a rare find with three bedrooms side by side, each one with a king bed!)

If you're looking for a place to stay in Bend, this is the perfect spot! Access to the unit is easy. Downtown is conveniently walkable. The Airbnb is suitable for long term stays. Super clean and comfortable. It feels like a home. Diana kept open communication just in case we needed anything. I appreciated it a lot. I would definitely consider coming back and stay here again.

We stayed at Big Lava in Bend for three nights and found it to be fantastic. The location is easy walking distance to town and to the Historic District as well.

The house is spacious with a lot of natural light and the rooms are very good sized.

The guidebook that was provided was very helpful for looking up places to go while we were there.

I strongly recommend this place to stay if you're going to be in Bend, Oregon for any length of time.

We loved our stay here! It is central to the many things we love when we come to Bend. Diana and her team have wonderful communication and instructions to navigate the home. We would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Rare 3 bedroom with washer/dryer, full kitchen (with seasoning), that is a VERY short walk into town. Would definitely book here again.

The location and house are very nice. Something to be aware of: only the living room is directly heated, meaning that the bedrooms tend to be slightly colder.

Stone’s Throw and Diana and team very professional and responsive. Cannot Beat the location. Excellent parking. Clean. Basic but very well stocked - coffee maker, cups, bowls, silverware, towels, linens, PT, TP, soap!! Limited storage space for clothes but has suitcase racks as well as hangers in the closets, and some hooks scattered around. Washer/dryer functions and useful. Dishwasher functional and useful. A/C and heat very functional but only in the main room so need to allow it to heat/condition the 3 bedrooms for the overnight portion. Was actually totally fine at night with closed doors in very cold winter weather if allowed the heat to get through during the day. Cannot stress convenience of location and cleanliness of location and responsiveness of hosts. !!! Enjoy!

My family traveled to Bend to explore the city, we have never been before. Our focus was mostly on finding amazing places to eat, but having a central location was crucial. This house was not only adorable, well equipped, and very comfortable, it was the absolutely perfect location for enjoying all that Bend has to offer.

Great place overall. Very clean, location was great. The only down fall is the noise from the cars. The street tends to be a bit busy at night.

This home is sparkling clean, sleek/modern, has all of the things you could ever need and a couple of special extras, great location, easy/communicative management, and the comfiest beds! I appreciated that it was 3 king beds, made it easier on determining who got each room. We went over a holiday week and this place even had all I needed to make a dish to bring in a respectable-looking way. It was a great stay, Bend is excellent too!

Our stay in Bend was spectacular. Despite the heat wave, our family enjoyed hiking, mountain biking and absorbing everything Bend has to offer. The walking distance to downtown was amazing and we took advantage of the patio at the house. One of our best family vacations, we plan to be back.

My family of 5 stayed here over July 4 weekend and we had a great experience. The bungalow is just like what you saw in the pictures - and the location is great. Walking distance to coffee shops, restaurants, markets, and the river (though maybe too far if you're carrying a lot of stuff) while still being in a very quiet neighborhood. Plus, it has AC!! Highly recommend, would stay there again.

We loved our stay at Big Lava! We live in Bend, but wanted some space from room mates during "Shelter in place". Big Lava was the perfect "Pandemic escape" staycation spot. It was spot to be in a new area in town.

The perfect spot to get away to beautiful Bend. Location was perfect, just a stones throw from great restaurants, cafes and tap rooms, but in a lovely leafy quiet street. The little touches like the foam cover on the bed to make it heavenly soft to sleep on and the lovely body wash made us feel so welcome. We ate out lots, but also enjoyed cooking in, plenty of plates, pots, glasses and utensils made it easy and the sofa and benches were perfect for eating, relaxing but also for computer hook in.

This property is beautiful as it lines the Deschutes River! The river walk is easily accessible with benches and picnic benches. The location of the condo is a quick walk to the downtown area which has many quaint shops and unique restaurants for all types of palates. Breweries are plentiful and in walking distance as well as rentals for kayaks, tubes, bikes and any other resort type activities.

Brook and Diana’s place was a wonderful place for my family of 5 to spend a few days over July 4th. It’s very close to downtown, and had lots of nice fine touches. We didn’t need anything while there, but Brook and Diana were super responsive when we wrote (to say we were checked out). I’d definitely stay again when in Bend!

Our family of four is on a cross country road trip through national parks. What a delight to arrive at such a comfortable, beautifully decorated home. The windows, the garden, we loved the artwork. Just felt like a home. The beds are heaven. We grilled salmon and veggies and had a lovely family dinner!
