Vintage Awbrey

The house was very nice. The open fire was a lovely-to-have. The bedrooms were comfortable and the kitchen was clean and well equipped (nice no-teflon pans, eco dishsoap) . It felt more coherent and homey than many other Airbnbs I've stayed in. Bonus that our pup was welcome, and there's a fully fenced back yard.

We rented this wonderful house for 5 nights. You won't find a more well-prepared Air BnB...Diana sent us a link to their app which makes it easy to find literally any and everything near to or pertaining to the rental. I've never seen so much thought put into a property. The house is very comfortable and has really unique furnishings. Great places to hang out or have dinner or breakfast. Lots to do near by, but we preferred staying in. It's also about 1.5 miles to the park n ride (which is free) and the shuttle to Mt. Bachelor (which is $12 round-trip). Add a jacuzzi in and its tough to beat.

The cottage is adorable and absolutely perfect for a long weekend in bend! The hot tub was a great addition after a long day skiing and the location of the cottage is perfect! We will be back this summer to stay for sure!

We had a great stay at this spot. The house is well set up for a cozy and comfortable stay with a full kitchen, a great backyard for a dog to run in, and a hot tub to use on those cold nights! The location is excellent with it being an easy walk to a variety of coffee shops and restaurants, and also very close to the river trails etc. Definitely recommend to others.

The house was well stocked and very clean, loved the cozy atmosphere and midcentury modern furniture and decor, it was really fun!! Beds were very comfortable, plenty of towels and extra bedding. I came from Montana to visit my son that lives in Bend, so we stayed in the neighborhood, ordered some great pizza from Pizza Mondo and enjoyed the hot tub and our time together.

Location is prime at Diana’s, within 10 minutes walk to all the fun in downtown Bend. Very close to the river trail, making this spot worth the cost. The house is better shared with others because it provides everything you would need for cooking with friends and enjoying a longer stay in Bend, but it was a really lovely weekend stay for me none the less! I wish I could have stayed longer!

Really enjoyed our stay.

This was our first Airbnb stay. Couldn't have loved it more. Diana was the very best host. Unbelievably comfortable and charming house. So clean this celiac had no worries about cross-contamination in the kitchen. We used the King-sized bed which was extremely comfortable. She thoughtfully left us locally roasted coffee which was in a sealed sample package and very welcome the next morning. I honestly can't think of anything we wished had been different. It will be hard to top this darling house and kind host the next time we stay somewhere.

We had a great time - the place definitely felt like home and was comfortable for us and our dog - it was great to have the fenced in back yard for her. We were able to walk to restaurants and shops so we didn't have to drive and try to find parking when going out to get a bite to eat.

We greatly enjoyed staying at Diana’s place. Comfortable, clean, cozy, and convenient location! Would definitely stay again next time I’m in Bend.

We had a fabulous stay. The bike, tub, location was everything we needed. We based here for work and it was perfect. We caught up with legend Gerry Lopez and surfed the wine and paddled the river. If you go to the wave at sunrise you can watch Gerry surf.

We loved our experience at Diana’s place in Bend! My husband, two children, and golden retriever spent spring break there and it was a trip to remember. Diana’s place was great, and we were very at home here. Plenty of space. All appliances worked well. The beds were comfy. The jacuzzi was really nice. We definitely would stay again. Plus I’ll just add, if you happen to be an idiot like me and leave a cell phone behind, Diana’s team is super responsive and happy to overnight a package. Phew!

We had a great trip in Bend. The house was also wonderful. We had a good time in the Lava Tubes although it was very dark. We hiked around Todd Lake.

This house is an awesome spot with plenty of space. Great kitchen, awesome backyard with plenty of room and a hot tub, BBQ with propane and backup bottles just incase, 5 bikes with locks for you to cruise around town easily and a fantastic location very close to downtown Bend. about a 2 minute bike ride depending on traffic and how easy it is to cross some of the bussier streets.

Great location. You can walk to downtown or to 10 Barrel/Sunriver breweries. Either direction is an easy walk. Uber pick up was easy for longer distances. The house was well appointed. The hot tub and wood burning fireplace were a plus for the cold nights. We will definitely be back and hope to stay at Diana’s home again.

We have bounced around Oregon for our California ski week an its been nice to actually stay put in this cozy home. Parts of it remind me of the Victorian apartments in San Francisco. I appreciate the thoughtful accommodations of shampoo, laundry detergent, spices and chocolates. Bend sure has grown since the last time we were here 6 years ago.

Diana’s home is very cute equipped with a hot tub and a bunch of fun games which are a lot of fun for the summer! They responded fairly quick and were very nice. Thanks again!

Comfortable, clean, and well appointed small two bedroom cottage home. Especially liked the attention to detail such as a large bottle of lotion to use after enjoying the hot tub. The basement waxing area was great for working on our nordic skies after a day of skiing. We were there to x-country ski at Meisner and Bachelor and found the location close and easy to Century Drive. Hot tub was great after a day of skiing. Close to Newport Market, a must visit. Not a show stopper but a couple things to be aware of if there is more then one car parking could be a little tight. The spot in the back is large enough for one car. You could park a car in the garage but it is a bit tight. The location is two houses from a busy intersection - morning and later afternoons, and parking on the street feels a bit dicey given how narrow Aubrey is and the traffic approaching the busy side street. Pictures make the home look larger than it is - not so unusual. That said we enjoyed our stay and would stay there again.

This is a great place to stay all of the beds are comfortable will sleep well. They had wood fire place, too. The hot tub was clean which makes a huge difference. The house was clean, very clean. This house was fantastic. Very clean, perfect size yard and has everything you need. It is also in a great place in Bend, just a few blocks from the river. I would highly recommend this house.

Cute vintage home!! Great location and amenities. It was refreshing to see all new appliances and cutlery (strange I know). Bed and pillows were super comfortable. Central AC and new windows made a huge difference in our stay (due to the wildfire smoke). The smoke alarm went off a few times BUT a quick message to the host prompted new batteries being delivered within 1 hour. Needless to say the hosts were super responsive. Parking was a bit wonky, we parked in the alley since street parking was limited. If you have a larger vehicle, plan to park on the street and plan accordingly.

Great location just across the river from downtown. Very responsive hosts and a nice base for exploring Bend and the surrounding areas.

This is a fantastic, fun place to stay, 5 BIG stars! The house is wonderfully decorated to its era (1948), very clean, well stocked, has comfortable beds and a wonderful amenities — including a big hot tub, bikes, and a nice fenced yard. It’s located very near downtown Bend and there is so much to do— just wish we got to stay longer! We went kayaking and floating (@Tumalo Park) on the Deschutes, shopped, walked, visited the Painted Hills and just relaxed cooking awesome meals and soaking in the hot tub! A Stones Throw hosts were very communicative and made sure we were doing well and if we needed anything— so nice! Would highly recommend this place and hope to return soon!

This was our Christmas in February. It was our first Christmas gift to each other. We went snow shoeing with Wanderlust tours, we ate lots of vegan food. Spent a good amount of time in the hot tub. Loved the attire in the house! Overall it was a great time! Looking forward to coming back.

Stayed here for a week with a friend. This place is fully stocked with EVERYTHING you'll ever need. Beds are comfortable. Neighborhood is quiet. The kitchen is fully equipped and lots of space in the fridge. Selling points for me were the waxing station in the basement and jacuzzi tub! 10/10 would stay here again!

Our family had a blast. This house was perfect for us. We loved all the flamingos. It was nice to have a spot close by for our paddle boards. And the hot tub was very relaxing. This house made out vacation complete. We loved riding the bikes around too. But, I would say maybe repair the bikes as needed. Other than that we loved this visit.

We all had a fun weekend in Bend. This included a float on the Deschutes, soccer tournament, hiking in the Three Sister's wilderness and socializing with family. We enjoyed the hot tub on many occasions and the location was great for walking downtown. One of the highlights was finding all of your kitchen supplies and making chocolate chip cookies with Violet. Our family of four had a great time and this place was perfect. Quick to town, great running trail, and quick to get going to the Mt. We cooked the bulk of our meals at home and the kitchen had everything we needed. The fireplace made for some great evenings in the living room and the hot tub soak after riding Mt Bachelor made for a perfect trip. I highly recommend this little spot as it was a bit more affordable than slot of others I found.

The Vintage Awbrey Bungalow managed by A Stone's Throw is a great choice for your stay in Bend! It has a mountain cabin feel with old fashioned furniture and retro touches. The kitchen is especially nice with modern appliances and everything you could possibly need. The bed was comfortable, the heating system worked great, and everything felt very clean and cozy. It is an adorable quiet neighborhood and walking distance to downtown Bend. Our favorite part of the bungalow was the hot tub in the backyard. It worked great and was very clean. All instructions were very clear and we really had no questions or need for anything, but we knew that Brook, Heidi, and Diana were happy to help if anything came up. We would definitely stay here again!

This cottage was older but extremely clean and well cared for. Backyard was perfect for our daughter to play. The walk downtown was short and direct. Off street parking was confusing the first time but priceless after that. The place had everything you need. We had a BBQ, used the strainer for pasta and made toast! This house might not be suitable for individuals with mobility disabilities. If you are looking for a small, getaway place, this house will suit you perfect!

What a great place to stay in Bend! The owners of this house could write a manual on "how to AirBnb!" So many nice notes, and advice on where to go. Anything you need is right there from basic amenities, to a big thing of lotion for out-of towners adjusting to the dry air to a big growler to use at the brew pubs so you can act like a local. House was very clean and wonderfully appointed. A mellow walk home from downtown. You can can't go wrong with this house!

This was a beautiful, clean home that was in a great central location to breweries and restaurants. We enjoyed the hot tub, renting and watching DVDs, making breakfasts in kitchen, and sleeping in the oh-so-comfy beds! About a 30 minute drive away from Smith Rock, which is worth the time to check out. Thank you for such a wonderful stay! The high-end bathroom shampoos, soaps, and lotions were an extra bonus!

A Stone's Throw management agency was wonderful to work with. They were very helpful and accommodating from the initial contact and throughout our stay. We had an issue with the internet not working and Brook came over within 5 minutes of our call, did some troubleshooting, and went out and bought a new router and installed it right away. The Vintage Awbrey house was cozy and comfortable, and wonderfully located. It was spotlessly clean, extremely well equipped and well-stocked with everything we needed. It is in a great location very close to downtown, but also very quiet. The hot tub was a nice added benefit! We highly recommend both the agency and the house.”

My mom, sister, and I traveled recently to Bend for a 3-day visit and were fortunate to find A Stones Throw available to stay. We were completely charmed by the property and neighborhood, which is centrally located just a half mile walk from downtown Bend. Our hosts communicated promptly and accurately before our stay, and there was detailed information about using the amenities, departure instructions, and what to do in the area at the property. The home was beautifully equipped; we especially enjoyed the comfy beds and array of kitchen equipment. I would highly recommend A Stones Throw for a stay in Bend whatever the season.

We went from Florida to Bend to visit our son for 10 days. The house was better than we expected and is very close to downtown and the Old Mill district. They have included everything that you could need including a fully equipt kitchen, hot tub, bicycles, grill, games and a fireplace with wood supplied. We enjoyed the stay at Vintage Awbrey. The location is perfect. You can walk three blocks to downtown for coffee, or three blocks the other direction to get to the miles of Deschutes river trails. The neighborhood is quiet. Parking was easy. The place was very clean. We had BBQ al fresco while watching the pink sky light up as the sun set behind the trees. A hot tub on a 40 degree night is always nice too. Thanks for the pleasant stay.

Perfect house for 3-4 people or a small family. Great location within walking distance of the river, downtown, and parks. The house is well equipped with a great kitchen, very comfortable beds, backyard patio with hot tub, and a single garage to store sporting equipment although the owner has bikes available if you didn't bring your own. We will stay at Vintage Awbrey on our next visit to Bend!

The house is well taken care of. Appliances and kitchen all high end. It was wonderful to have an excellent kitchen with sharp knives and excellent cookware.
The location was perfect. We could walk to town and walk along the river walk, all within a 10 minute jaunt. Owner emailed me to see if we needed anything, only a few minutes away.

We loved the backyard area, as well - spacious, attractive, and pleasant to relax in. The kitchen was well stocked with needed supplies, as was the rest of the house. We appreciated the responsiveness and helpfulness of Diana, Chris, and Marta both before and during our visit. We hope to return!

I've stayed at many AirBnB properties in the Bend area, and this one was by far my favorite! The living space was large and comfortable, the kitchen had everything needed to cook meals (SHARP knives? That never happens!), and the backyard was a great place to hang out. Highly recommended.
