This house is so fabulous! Nicely renovated and cozy, it was an awesome place to stay while in Bend. My only complaint is the hot tub was not clean when we arrived and was not properly cleaned while we were there. That was a bummer but everything else was absolutely perfect.

Diana’s place was perfect stay for a weekend in Bend. It was comfy and plenty of common space to eat at the Airbnb after enjoying some time skiing.

Great location, had everything we needed for our stay. Fireplace and hot tub as well as a yard for the dogs and washer/dryer were added bonuses. Would definitely recommend to others and would book again.

I had an excellent stay at Diana's home. It was the perfect place to catch up with my sister, make food, play games, take long walks and rest well. On our first evening walk a gorgeous buck was strolling through the neighborhood and it felt like a treat! The neighborhood is very quiet with beautiful homes and quick access to the river.

The house was well stocked with everything we needed and would certainly be a great space for more folks than just the two of us. The home guide was clear and helpful with great recommendations on local spots to eat and enjoy ourselves. I would love to stay at Diana's place the next time we are out this way. Thank you for letting us stay at your excellent space!

Diana was a fantastic host and very accommodating. We had a great trip and loved to location of this place. Lots to do and great food / coffee / beer around.

Bikes for use was a super bonus too as it was so fun to ride around town. I would recommend 100% and hope to be back.

The only thing I can think of was that the rooms got a bit warm at night. The main cooling mini split kept the main part of the house cool but didn't get into the rooms too well (especially if the doors were closed). It was also in the mid 90's most of our trip so it may be totally fine otherwise.

Cute house on quiet street. We loved the fact that we could walk to the river park, breweries and coffee. House a bit dated but worked out great for our weekend. We brought 2 bikes and used the 2 cruisers in the garage which is much better than trying to drive/park anywhere in Bend. Diana is a perfect host.

The rental was well suited to our needs. In particular the location was perfect as both a launching pad for skiing at Mt. Bachelor and for exploring Bend. Some excellent restaurants within a very short walk. Downtown is a longer walk or a trivial bike ride in nice weather.

The first night we were bleary from long travel and failed to read the instructions on the heat pump remote carefully enough, and had trouble warming the place up, but that was mostly our fault. Diana was good about responding to our questions on the topic.

Kitchen was spacious and well equipped. Bedrooms are on the small side. The house is a good size for a couple. Hot tub was key after skiing!

We had a great time. Great location for everything.

Great location! It was just my daughter and myself, so we enjoyed the quiet neighborhood and nearby attractions. In those winter days it was wonderful to have a hot fireplace and hot hot tub!

Perfect cozy home. Small space with all the needed amenities. Great location and good price. Did not use the hot tub at night. Per the house rules, we would basically need to be silent while using it after 10pm. Small yard so the neighboring homes are right next to the hot tub.

"Lovely retreat from home"

Our stay in Bend was all we hoped it would be. Relaxing, quiet, beautiful and safe for our dogs. Thank you for offering such a lovely retreat.

What a charming and lovely house. The hot tub after a long drive was just what the body and mind needed. The living room is very comfortable, the gas stove really made the evening that much nicer. The bed was super comfortable. We brought our 2 dogs and they had the best time. There is a dog park maybe a 1/4 mile away. We shopped at Newport Ave market and cooked on the grill. We felt very safe and its very quiet there. Located near amazing food and super close to downtown and 10 minutes from old mill. We will be returning for sure.

Awesome house! Only issues were the heat-thermostats were set but house was in mid 50’s each morning, maybe it shuts off at night? And hot tub isn’t allowed after 10pm-the neighbors shine lights on you & watch you in the yard. Saw this on other reviews-maybe time for a taller fence?! Other than that we’d def stay here again. Location & landscaping was awesome!!

Cute little house in such a perfect location. Very walkable. Very helpful binder of information with lots of food and drink recommendations. My husband and I brought our toddler and went with our friends and their baby. The back room with the king-size bed is spacious enough for a pack n play to be on the floor, but there wasn't really enough space in the front room for one. Fortunately, there is a loft above the front room, so we were able to put the pack n play up there, but that set-up may not be suitable for everyone. Just a heads up in case others are travelling with children!

First time to Bend and Mt.Bachelor. The cabin location is perfect! The hot tub was much appreciated. First day at Mt.bachelor is was a snow blizzard. The next day we went it was beautiful blue sky. Thank you for the amazing stay.

This home was perfect for our ski vacation. It was an easy drive to Mt Bachelor each day, and it was great to come back to a cozy home with a fireplace and hot tub after a long day on the slopes. And we were also within walking distance to everything we needed, including a fantastic dog park. Would definitely come back again.

Happy New Year! This was our first trip of 2022 and our first time in Bend, Or. We had a great time! We especially enjoyed the hot tuba after a long day of snowboarding at Mt. Bachelor. This little cottage is a great getaway in the city of Bend. Location is close enough to drive/walk to nearby restaurants and breweries. It's close enough to all the parks we planned to visit and an easy drive to Mt Bachelor.

The house has everything you could need. A nice living room to relax and plenty of access for entertainment such as Netflix, Roku, and cable. If reading is your thing there is even a quiet spot to escape into your book. The instructions for everything were so detailed that it left no question unanswered. The backyard was perfect for our dog. The neighborhood was great for walking the dog while grabbing coffee or a growler fill. The hot tub is fantastic! In case you didn't read the first sentence the house is in the city so yes you have neighbors and can hear cars but you're not on the side of the highway or anything.

Easy check in, very clean, so many thoughtful details! We loved the very luxurious hot tub and the location was excellent! The hosts were so attentive and communication was excellent.

Thank you for the stay, it felt like we were in a little cabin in the woods, but we were in a populated area which was nice. We loved the hot tub and the bed was probably one of the most comfortable that I have ever slept in. The high chair being available was a plus as well.

The hot water did not last long enough for me to fill up the bath to take advantage of the jacuzzi tub which was disappointing. The house was also very drafty and it was either too hot or too cold in the bedroom, which was not ideal for us with having an infant who can’t regulate her own body temp. Cleanliness could also be improved, there was a bunch of dog hair on the front window sill, and while we have a dog at home and are used to it, it does not add to the cleanliness factor.

Loved the hot tub- we got in multiple time a day! Our favorite places were Bagel bomb, 10 Barrel, The Yacht club, Pilot Butte and Smith Rock.

My wife and I stayed here for 3 weeks, and this was one of the best AirBnb experiences we have had. The house is adorable, was clean, and had everything we needed to cook and clean. Even the bathroom was stocked with essentials. The hot tub and fireplace were amazing, and the neighborhood itself is so pretty and nice to walk around. There is a park at the end of the road that connects to a nice walking path and dog park. The host responded to every question we had within minutes. This place is very convenient to town and is walking distance to a few shops and restaurants. 100% recommend!

My dogs and I loved this home. The ease of check in, the space in the home, the perfect backyard and the private hot tub made the home a must stay for anyone! Wonderful smaller yet spacious bungalow in a perfect location. The street was quiet yet very close to lots of amenities (grocery stores, restaurants, etc). Our family of four and our dog felt right at home with just the rights amount of space and the backyard was very private feeling and very secure fencing for our dog. Hot tub was clean and perfect temperature that we enjoyed. Definitely recommend and we will stay there again!! Not to mention the hosts were very kind and responsive!

We came to Bend for the 4th year in a row; however this was our first time at the Cinder Cone house. We loved this house and will stay here again. The yard was great for our dogs. We walked to dinner at Ariana's (which was fabulous) and biked to downtown. We also rode the free shuttle and the stop is just at 13th and Galveston. It was so easy to ride and convenient. Everything was fabulous. We will be back next year to stay here!

We had a wonderful week in the cottage, enjoying the magnificent Bend summer, and exploring the lakes, forest and town. 4th of July pet parade and the trails and Sparks Lake were highlights. This is our second time staying with friends at Cinder Cone (and we'll be back!). It couldn't be more convenient in terms of location. 10 Barrel, Sunriver, Ale Apothecary, and Good Life are just a short walk away. It's a quick Lyft or a nice urban hike to get to any of the others (we walked to Crux in 30 minutes). There aren't many pet-friendly rentals with hot tubs in Bend, and the fact that this one is so convenient and comfortable make it a prime spot to stay.

The cottage is cozy, clean, and in a great neighborhood. Walking distance to plenty of breweries, bars, and restaurants. Plus there’s a Safeway close by. The place is a little small, so it’s probably not ideal for any groups over 4. We had 2 couples in our party, and it was good for the 4 of us, but it would’ve been too cramped with any more people. The beds were comfortable, the hot tub is relaxing, and the backyard is big (the gas BBQ grill is an extra plus!) The Stone’s Throw team were great hosts! When we ran out of toilet paper and garbage bags, they dropped some off to us on the porch. Great customer service!

We came to Bend for our sons 11th B-day adventure. Your little bungalow was a special treat for all of us. The boys loved their hide-away loft and the hot tub and my husband and I enjoyed the quiet relaxing time spent in front of the fire. We played up on Bachelor during a lovely blizzard and raced home to the hot tub. It was a perfect place to spend our adventure!

"The Location Couldn’t Be Better"

Cute cottage, great location. We had a great stay here. The location couldn't be better - a walk to bars, restaurants and shave ice. A short bike ride to the river and all the shops downtown. The cottage was great, we used the hot tub more than we I thought we would - the kids were in it several times a day
(pool substitute!). The owners were very responsive to queries. Lots of towels, nice sheets. The house was very clean and the kitchen had everything you needed to cook with (not pantry supplies). Only critique is that the bikes weren't that good and we ended up renting one (from a bike shop three blocks away) and the little loft area was a great play area during the day, but too hot to sleep in, but there was ample room for my family of four, plus a friend who stayed with us for two nights on the couch. We would definitely stay there again

Very close (walking distance) to more than we could fit in a weekend. Walked to good beers and food at 10 Barrel and filled up our growler provided by Stone's Throw. The tacos down the street were also delicious as was the breakfast at Victorian Cafe. All these were just blocks away! Also walked to the amphitheater. We didn't have time to use the grill at the house, but we will next time. Hot tub was great! Used the bikes (there were 4 when we stayed) to get to the river. Seems well set up for winter use, so we might come back then.

The Cinder Cone cottage is an awesome little house and a minute's drive from downtown Bend. My group of five fit just fine here with our two dogs and had a total blast. The back yard is nice, there are plenty of kitchen amenities, and we were naught for want during our stay here. From the house you are walking distance to multiple places to go eat and have great beer including 10 Barrel, Cabin 22, Broken Top Bottle Shop, and many more. Also definitely walk over to Backporch Coffee Roasters for your morning ritual.

The house was centrally located: a 15 minute bike ride to Phil's Trailhead, a <5 minute walk to all the fun on Galveston, and a beautiful 20 minute walk to downtown! "Great Location Perfect for Our Trip"

We made a two day trip to Bend with in-laws in town. Our two girls loved the loft and our dog Iris explored every inch of the backyard. We couldn't have found a better set up for our stay. We spent a week in the Cinder Cone cottage and loved it from the moment we opened the front door. This place truly has everything we could have wanted for a fun and relaxing time in Bend. The location on a quiet neighborhood side street is perfect, and we took full advantage of being within easy walking distance of some of Bend's best coffee shops (Backporch Coffee Roasters) , breweries/tap rooms (10 Barrel, Sunriver, Growler Phil's), and restaurants (Chow, Victorian Cafe, Brother Jon's). The cottage is well-maintained and very comfortable, with more than enough space to settle in and feel like you're in a home away from home. We were happy that the kitchen had all the cookware and appliances we needed for cooking and baking. The living room has comfy couches, a gas fireplace, and a TV - everything you need for lounging. Our favorite perk was the hot tub in the private backyard, which was a wonderful daily indulgence after coming back from a day of outdoor adventuring. We also appreciated having snowshoes and bikes at our disposal; the snowshoes came in handy for tromping through deep snow in the Cascades, although we didn't use the bikes. When the time inevitably came to check out at the end of the week, we didn't want to leave! And we're already talking about coming back. Very highly recommended. Thank you for everything!

This place was all about location! We loved staying here. It's right off the main road to get to Mt. Bachelor. The hot tub is a great bonus after a day of skiing. 10 Barrel was within 3-4 blocks and we could easily walk there, even in the snow. We hope to stay here each time we visit Bend.

We celebrated my 40th birthday week with a trip to Bend and couldn't have asked for a more perfect place to stay! My 13 year old son brought his best friend and between riding (the provided) bikes to Drake Park and old town downtown to spending time in the hot tub and hanging out in their room with the loft they had such a wonderful time. The house was incredibly clean (and I am a bit of a germaphobe) and was equipped with everything we needed and more. This was the perfect spot for our mini honeymoon. Bend is such a beautiful place! We completed the Bend Ale Trail and highly recommend Crux! The beer is great and they also have amazing jerky. We also rode horses at Seventh Mountain. The hot tub was a perfect way to make our muscles feel better after 2 hours of horseback riding!

We both really enjoyed our second visit to Bend and to stay in another of A Stones Throw vacation rentals. Cinder Cone is a lovely home from home property. Thank You!

My husband and I came from Santa Barbara for rest, relaxation, golf and outdoor activity. We had a wonderful time. We loved the central location and charm of a Stone's Throw Bungalow. Weather could not have been nicer. Loved every moment of our trip. Thank you for the comfortable hospitality.

We came over from Portland for golf and relaxation. We had warm dry weather and walking to downtown by way of Galveston to Drake Park yielded a juice bar and several restaurants. Smork (on Newport) is fantastic with international fresh flavors and the juice bar (on Galveston) has healthy smoothies and juices. Lots of great little places within walking distance for breakfast and lunch. Baltazars to south 14th and Knoll is a high end fish house with a Spanish flair. We had top notch fresh huge plates of food - $$ But well worth quality for appreciative about foodies. Great location and the house was comfy and warm to come home to on a cool April night.

We had a wonderful stay at your cottage. It was perfect for our trip to Bend. It was comfortable, just the right size and we loved being able to walk to some restaurants and breweries. We appreciated the little things like coffee beans to grind, shampoo in the shower and sugar for our coffee. We never did use the bikes, as there were four of us and only three bikes, but it was nice enough outside for us to use the Croquet balls (for an improvised game of Bocce). We took advantage of the hot tub to help us recover from all our running and hiking.

Had a relaxing week at Cinder Cottage. In town for business and much more enjoyable than a hotel room! Bed super comfy...best sleep while traveling!

My small family spent 3 tremendous days here. For the most part, we never needed to travel more than 2 or 3 miles to find whatever we needed. Of course we did travel further in the name of exploration. This home was very comfortable for my family. There are easily accommodations for a few more people. We appreciated how quiet and cool it was at night, and warm and sunny everyday. The beer along the Ale Trail was really great too. Thanks!

We spend a wonderful week (Spring Break) at the cottage. The boys especially loved the loft and the hot tub. I was grateful for your nice gas fireplace, as it was chilly. We woke up one morning to 2 inches of snow, but we also go to sit outside in the sun. Thank you for allowing us to bring our dog. She loved your house too! We went on a couple of great mountain bike rides and can't wait to be back!
