Our stay at Little Lava was fantastic! It really is right in the heart of the Old Mill District and super walkable which is great. The space is the perfect size for two and I loved that there was a full kitchen and king sized bed (which was actually comfortable). We didn’t use the bikes this time around, but that was also a nice perk!

This may have been the best AirBnB we've stayed in. This small home was cozy, comfortable and full of light. We could walk downtown in just a few minutes to explore Bend, find food, go to the Farmers market or have a cup of coffee. We walked to the mill for delicious ramen. Walked over to the river walk. After each foray out, we came home to a warm haven. We sat outside in the front patio in the sunny afternoon. It was such a pleasure to be in a super clean, well equipped place with easy entry and easy locking each time we went out. I appreciated the messages welcoming us, giving us information, and making departure easy with clear instructions. Diana was quickly responsive the one time I had a question. There were even bikes to use! All in all a great experience.

Very small place, basically one room, but cute. Owner was responsive though. Wrong code for door sent Initially, but she quickly responded with the right code. Booked for 4 nights for 250 a night (which honestly is pricey for a one room) and when I asked to extend, the price went up to 330 for the other nights without telling me. Overall though the place is cute and allows dogs which was nice!

It was well stocked with kitchen and bath basics, and we enjoyed the table and chairs outside since the weather was so lovely. Definitely pretty pricey for what you get, but that's going to be all over Bend. Only problem we ran into was some bugs in the place but that's typical for this time of year. We visited Bend for the first time this weekend to celebrate our first wedding anniversary! So glad we were able to bring the dogs along! This location truly is a stone’s throw away from everything! We had such a blast exploring and using it as a homebase between local brewery/restaurants and parks around the Bend area! We hope to return soon!

Little Lava was the perfect spot. It was a one-minute walk before we hit the downtown area and about a five-minute walk to the river. The neighborhood was clean, quiet, and felt safe. Diana, our host, was responsive and kind. The house was clean and absolutely perfect! Having a BBQ and bikes available made our stay even more enjoyable! Can not recommend enough!

I had so much fun at this location! It’s a little pricey but it was my birthday so it was a splurge. It’s so close to downtown and all the restaurants and shops, I didn’t need to drive anywhere for all the days I was there. The house is basically a tiny house, but has all the amenities you need. It was super clean and the kitchen was well-stocked with everything you need to cook anything! The details are what impressed me most: from good organic soaps, trash bags, coffee with cream in fridge, to just the way the guestbook and recommendations were sitting out for me to look over. It felt homey, safe, and comfortable. Everything I needed! Thank you so much.

We had an excellent stay, the place had everything we needed and much more. Fully stocked kitchen utensils and appliances. Extra blankets, and heater quickly heated up the room. Slightly smaller than expected, but you can easily close the privacy curtains to separate the living room and ‘bedroom’ in the studio (all one room, no physical separation).

Little Lava is a sweet, well-stocked, cozy, comfy tiny home. Diana thought of and supplied everything a guest could need, including a very comfortable bed. Also, the place was spotless. We loved being able to walk everywhere. Early April was still a little too cold for the bikes supplied, but - though we’d love to come back and cruise around on them - we didn’t need them to access Bend’s amazing restaurants, coffee spots, and taprooms.

The bungalow was great! I cannot wait to stay there with my pups again. The place was in a great location, easily walkable to great shops and food (5-7min walk) It is also only about 30min to Mt. Bachelor. Check in was a breeze and parking was super convenient. The place allows dogs, but you could not tell there had ever been dogs there before. My pups loved the front yard. Diana was very quick to respond to any questions and made sure that you knew she was there for anything you needed.

My husband and I really enjoyed having this as our home base for a couple nights while we were traveling for work. The home is in an extremely walkable area of downtown Bend, my husband was able to get around while I used the rental car to drive to a jobsite an hour plus away for half the day. The space was super clean, the shower had plenty of pressure and good hot water. We appreciated the local coffee for our first mornings pot. Linens were very nice and the bed was very comfortable. I would look to stay here again when coming to Bend.

Pros: Location can’t be beat. Were able to walk easily to everything in downtown Bend. Cute place. Small enclosed yard for the pup. Diana was super responsive. Overall would absolutely recommend as a place to stay in Bend.

Cons: The parking space has deceiving clearance issues and it broke off a plastic guard under our car when we arrived, so be careful if you have a low clearance vehicle. And the shower drain was clogged so we had to take short showers and had to stand in puddles of water when we showered.

True to its name. Little Lava is a small accommodation, but it is in a great neighborhood with a dog park a chuck-it throw away, downtown shops and running trails along the river within a few blocks. One of the bikes that was advertised had a flat tire, when i messaged them about this (the day when planned to bike around town), I never heard back. The shower had been draining slowly and when we tried to shower close together the shower overflowed all into the bathroom. I hope they fix these things.

Great to have a lodging so close to Downtown Bend, we enjoyed our after dinner walks each night up a different street. Always going through Troy field so our puppy Abby could have her run around in open space.
Don't miss the Broom Closet at McMenamins!
We enjoyed Marion berry ice cream at Goodys as well as coffee fudge gelato from Cravins Candy Emporium.
Pine Tavern serves delicious meal on the back porch facing the river- Dogs allowed!
Also Pastinos at the Old Mill, again dogs allowed and its along the river.
A trip to Smith Rock is a great way to start the day!

Great location! And the perfect size for 2. LOVED Bend! Spent most of our days climbing at Smith Rock. Tumalo Falls here is beautiful and don't miss the whitewaters along the Deschutes River!

Such a cute Bungalow to spend a girls weekend in bend! a great location to walk downtown for food, shopping and night life. We did the ATV near Lava National Park and hiked the Tumalo Falls! Both were amazing and beautiful!

Our dog piper enjoyed this dog friendly city. We especially liked the “Good dog trail off leash dog area.” Beautiful hike by the river and a happy free dog!

"Lovely little cottage"

Thank you for a lovely stay at Little Lava Cottage. My dog Lucy and I had a wonderful time mountain biking and hiking. Even a little shopping! Phils trails are awesome as is Peterson Ridge trails. Misery Ridge at Smith Rock was a highlight!

"Cant beat the location!"

Can’t beat the location of this place. Downtown is just a few mins walk. It’s very quiet. Oddly, when the neighbor slams their car door the houses shakes but that’s about it for noise. Great kitchen. Good wifi. The little yard is helpful if you have a pup and is an awesome place for a sunny breakfast. Nothing negative, but some personal preferences: Couch is okay. A bit too much for the space and over squishy for my taste. I’m not a fan of the bed. It was a spring mattress with a thick foam topper. It was too squishy for me, made it hard to move. It was made like a hotel, where the duvet cover is just laying on top of the duvet and the sheets are thin and smell commercial washed. Bed is #1 for me when I travel though. There is also no room for a nightstand so you can’t have water or phone by the bed. Not a dire issue, just pointing it out.

"Lava house was PERFECT"

Our stay at the little house on Lava Lane was simply PERFECT! We've been to Bend many times during both summer and the winter and always get to stay at hotels. We wanted something special this time. We are newly weds and have just gotten into Nordic skiing. The house was in the perfect location! Although the restaurants are closed to indoor dining we sat by the fire at McMenamins and we had a wonderful time. Happy Holidays!

Great location- cottage is small but mighty has everything one could need . Comfy king size bed , fire place , kitchen fully equipped. Fenced yard was a huge bonus for dogs . Will stay again and again when in Bend .

This spot is actually perfect! It's your own standalone hotel-room-sized spot just around the corner from downtown and neighborhoods. We are in the market of potentially buying a place in Bend and this was just so essential for having quick access to the downtown and minutes away from the other neighborhoods. The bungalow itself is tidy, clean, inviting, has lots of amenities including blender, stove etc for a nice cozy stay. It was also very quiet here despite being near the down town. I was able to peacefully get a few hours of work in at the dining table between our neighborhood visits. We brought our doodle and the 3 of us were perfectly comfortable for the weekend. 10/10 would stay here again.

We loved out stay at Little Lava! The little cottage was the perfect outdoor getaway. Many hours logged this weekend hiking and kayaking. This was the perfect place to come home to at the end of a long day of adventuring. Be sure to get out on the bikes and check out some of the tasty breweries, and do not pass up the opportunity to eat at Jacksons Corner! Thank you Stones Throw for the awesome stay! I love Bend cause it just the right size and because my son lives here now. This cozy cottage is quite extra special because i had a cozy space of my own. Plus I stayed for 2 nights. The BBQ was perfect for dinners and I enjoyed eating it outside.
The lava Cottage location is the best. I didn't realize how close it was to downtown and the Box Factory/ Old Mill area. Also the River walk which is a must for me. Everything I wanted while I was visiting.

There isn’t a better location to stay than this cozy home. The front yard is an extra special treat. 1 space of off street parking. You can walk to downtown, to the river, to old mill, or to a new area with restaurants and shopping just south. Make sure to check out Podski on Thursdays with live music. Will definitely stay here next time I’m in Bend. Highly recommend!!

This is a wonderful little gem in the heart of Old Bend. The outdoor living area is really nice. I really liked the simplicity and comfort. I would not recommend for more that 2 people, it’s about the size of a studio apartment but the outdoor living space doubles it.

We arrived early; there’s always an aspect of travel that’s unexpected and we were very grateful for an early check in and for our hosts understanding!!! We had a wonderful time in Bend and the Little Lava Inn was the perfect place to wrap up our tour of the PNW. It truly was relaxing and felt homey. The location was spot on too, we’d happily stay again. It’s blocks from everything and the access to bikes was icing on the cake. We HIGHLY recommend stopping next door to the McMenimin’s Old School which has been transformed and contains the coolest backyard patio with multiple fire pits and bar. Another gem of an outdoor spot is Bend Brewing Co. it’s spectacular. As for food, find an Ocean Roll and enjoy!!! I’ll be dreaming of them. Our dinners at both Zydeco and Barrio we’re great as well.

The town is cute and everything close by and we enjoyed the bikes too.After the hustle & bustle of Seattle and Portland, this little inn was the perfect place to kick off our shoes and relax. Exceeded my expectations. Sparkling clean, chocolates and coffee beans available upon arrival. So close to downtown and all the amazing restaurants, shops, and river activities. Just across the street from McMenamins which was a super fun place to grab food, drinks or explore. We walked everywhere, don't need a car at all for this location. Dog friendly, with a little yard out front, our two small pups loved it. Bed was comfortable, plenty of clean towels, soap, shampoo etc provided. We are hoping to stay here again soon, cannot say enough good things about these hosts and little lava and the town of bend. 10/10 ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★

What a great experience...maybe one of the best AirBnB places I’ve ever stayed in. It’s a small space but that was exactly what I needed. The cottage is stylish, comfortable, full of thoughtful amenities and touches and everything works well, especially the WiFi, TV and barbecue. The bed is very comfortable and the kitchen is nicely equipped. The cottage is on a quiet street and only a 5-minute walk to downtown and less than 10 to a great grocery store called Market of Choice. Brook and her team were excellent to work with. Overall, such a great experience.

Great location basically next door to McMenenamins but still in quiet residential neighborhood. Walking distance to everything you need. We walked along the river from Drake Park to Riverbend park with our dog for the off-leash swimming area which was really nice. Grocery store and breweries all within a few blocks. It is a small place but has everything you need!

What a perfect place for a weekend in Bend! We were in town for Bend Marathon weekend and the location was absolutely perfect. It's right on the edge of the downtown area, a walk, skip and jump away from McMenamin's. The amenities were perfect for us, we hope to use the grill on our next visit! It was quiet, the AC/Heater worked just fine, and our dogs loved the fenced in yard. We can't wait to visit again!

We appreciated how close to all the shops and restaurants in Old Bend this cottage was. The kitchen was well stocked and the bed was comfy. The only drawback is that the shower is small, but the water pressure was decent, so it was fine for us. Being able to bring our dog was wonderful, especially since Bend has so many great dog-walking trails. Also, we enjoyed getting to see a indie rock show with no cover across the street at McMenamin's on our last night in town.

Perfect location. I walked everywhere I needed to go and didn't bother with the bikes (which had their tires inflated and ready to go if you wanted.) Just the right amount of space for me and one other. I didn't use the appliances but they looked ready to go and spotless in the kitchen. Very clean and management has thought of lots of extra little details that were nice touches. We did not cook but the kitchen had everything you needed and was very well stocked. The bed is large and comfortable. The location is fantastic, you can walk most places but the bikes are useful (though getting a little old) we did not use our car all weekend. Thank you for a great stay, we would come again and would highly recommend the cottage to friends and family.

The best place to stay at in Bend. We will definitely be back to this cute and cozy place. It had everything we wanted and more. The only that I am disappointed in is that we could not stay much longer!

This is truly a great little pad super close to all of the action yet quiet and peaceful. We didn't get a chance to use the bikes because we were walking everywhere. The house is very small but well laid out and super comfortable for a short stay or longer one. One thing to note: it does get pretty bright in the morning as the window coverings are very lightweight. You definitely need an eye mask if you're sensitive to that sort of thing (I am). I would stay there again in a heartbeat.

This home is the perfect size for two people. The kitchen had everything we needed, the king bed was SO comfortable, and we loved being able to walk Saturday Market! Even though the place is pet-friendly, there were no signs of past pets. I really appreciated the cleanliness and privacy of this home, and hope to stay again soon!

This place was a nice getaway for 3 nights. We loved the thoughtful touches like including a growler to fill up at Deschutes! We took the bikes out (they are definitely meant for limited hills and road only) and utilized the cute front porch to play some of the games they provided like Scrabble. The bed is very comfortable and the home is clean and tidy.

The Little Lava Cottage is THE PLACE to stay if you want to be in the heart of downtown Bend. Such a cute home with everything you need and truly a 5 minute walk from the great restaurants and retail that Bend has to offer. We couldn't have found a better place for our trip. Chris and Marta were very responsive and an awesome binder of local things to do based on distance from the Lava Cottage. We loved playing scrabble and relaxing in this adorable home and would love to return soon. Thanks for everything!!

This was the perfect spot for a quiet weekend in Bend. Excellent location to hit up down town and explore. The cottage was so cute and quaint and had everything we could need. The bed was SO COMFORTABLE. We will definitely return and hopefully stay here again!

Little Lava was a great little bungalow. Very well equipped, clean, and owner was very easy to communicate with. Couldn't ask for a better location. We parked at the home when we arrived and were able to walk to breweries, restaurants, and old town, for our 2 day stay.

We had a great time staying at the Little Lava IN. It is very comfortable and close to great restaurants and shopping. Fortunately, we arrived on "First Friday", where shops and businesses stay open until 9, the town was jamming with people and energy. Saturday night was much more laid backed. If you have the time a day trip to Smith Rock State Park is not to be missed.

Our trip to Little Lava was spectacular! The location is central, and within blocks of McMenamin's Old St. Francis. It was equipped with everything we needed, including unexpected amenities such as internet, cable, a BBQ grill, a dish washer, and a coffee maker! When we come back to Bend, we will definitely see if the Little Lava is available.

We loved the Little Lave Cottage! Perfect location and perfect size for two. The place was immaculate, and the air conditioning was very welcome during the summer heat. For a variety of reasons, we ended up spending more time at the cottage than originally planned and making a few meals there, and it was very comfortable with everything we needed. I have no doubt we will be back to Little Lava Cottage!

We used the two bikes to get all around town and could walk or bike to everything we needed. Bend is an amazing town!! I want to move there.
